Who can participate in the Quilt of Peace-project?
Any school and benevolent institution, from church-based organizations to municipal welfare programs. Everyone interested in encouraging the ideals of peace and understanding is invited. Our target audience are children from kindergarten through middle school. We are particularly interested in schools with a large number of students from lower-income families and minority backgrounds.
How can I support UNESON?
The Quilt of Peace depends on people believing in the ideas and ideals of UNESON. If you want to support or sponsor our work, please contact us via the contact panel on this website. Financial or in-kind donations are highly appreciated. Another opportunity to support us is volunteer work. There's a lot to do and we're happy about anyone willing to help out in our goal of encouraging understanding among nations.
What happens to the patchwork blocks after the fundraiser?
After taking pictures of the patches for the website, the patches are collected, sewn together and stored for new events. Soon, there will be a "Collector's Edition": These small quilts consisting of four patchwork blocks each will consist of three patches made by children and a fourth one, created by a celebrity. These collector's edition quilts will be sold to finance our work.
